Getting schools ready for Indigenous academic achievement: a meta-synthesis of the issues and challenges in Australian schools

The Australian governments’ centrepiece Indigenous strategy, the ‘Closing Gap’ framework, established in 2008 to address systemic disadvantage, is underpinned by concept of ‘school readiness’, which expects families bring their children school ready learn. education system commonly blames culture as a contributing factor explaining ‘Gap’.
